Happiness

This is all it takes to make me happy: a blue sky, a blue ocean, and a ship traveling along the horizon, in the far distance.

'twas a bit misty today. How do you like the colours? Pink is my favourite colour! I do like the atmosphere in this photo, taken in a place not far from where I live. I should go there much more often. And I will!
Paradise is here.

Template Change!

I've changed the template of this Life Art blog of mine.
The colour is a bit weird, but I like the pink hue. Does it matter that I'm x or y or xx or xy???? Colour is a mixture of electromagnetic frequencies, and I like those frequencies which are represented by the term "pink". Blah blah blah.

Hope I can manage to entertain you with my thoughts. Please note that "Generation 50plus" is my main blog.
What I like to read:

My alltime favourite is a book series written by Kathrene Pinkerton: "Wilderness Wife" (among others). It's an autobiography of a woman who decides to move to the Canadian wilderness with her husband. His doctor recommended the move because of an health issue which he had developed when he worked as a journalist. They lived for five years in a log cabin in the wilderness. Making a living as writers.

I don't know what you like to read, but if you are interested in the wilderness, unusual lifestyle, and relationship with a partner then you ought to get hold of her books.
Another book she's written is "Two Ends to Our Shoestring", a more general autobiography, describing how she found her husband Robert, how they traveled the States in search of a future, and so on. A third biography (!) "Three's a Crew" describes her life on their boat, where they lived for another 7 years after leaving the bush, together with their daughter Bobs. All these books and her and her husbands novels are well worth reading. They should be available at abebooks.com, at least that's where I got them. Usually paying more for p&p than for the books themselves, lol.

Good news

That's good news: General Motors will definitely produce an electric car, as of 2010 or so. Lithium battery driven, with a back-up petrol engine for loading the battery if you travel more than some 60 miles or so, and can't fill her up on the mains.
Yes, I know: we use coal to produce the electricity to drive the car. Still, it's a first step towards a new technology, which will make the energy system which is now based on fossil fuels obsolete, and replace it by eg hydrogen, which can be produced by using the sunlight.
We HAVE to make the switch, the atmosphere not only is the air which we all breathe, but it's also the earth's coat. The coat is getting "too thick", causing sweat on our foreheads.
Also future generations will think of us as so stupid!

Oh how I love this country! The countryside, the language, de meisjes!
I know there are shadows, but even so.

Tot ziens, met de klompen.

Daylight saving

Yipee!!!
They are switching to Daylight Saving one week earlier this year to save energy and to do good to the environment. And this is only the beginning of a bulk of more measures to save the planet. Good news indeed, Uncle Sam, my friend!

US - World's Biggest Producer of Greenhouse Gas

Shame on you. We have a scientific MKSI system, and PAL is so much better. You're no longer my model country. Times are a changing you know.
What about your SUVs? A bit out of date?
Come on old man, get reborn, be a model again. It's possible. The Romans were extinguished, but now Europe is coming back.
USA, EU, Africa, Latin America, China, Russia - who are you? Are you the peoples who are destined to save and guide the peoples of the planet?
Too good to be true. Yet miracles do happen.
You Free Responsible Adults.

That headline has been taken out of context from a report about what it takes to be a human being.
The first word should denote each of us.
The second word is worth the number of its letters in tons of gold (4 tons).
The third word is a virtue, and should be a duty for all of us.
And four: Adults should be models to children.

Monsieur Beep

Thank you, Doctor, for dedicating your beautiful poem
to me:

Little Monsieur Beep
Was keeping his sheep
When down came a windy shower.
Without a peep,
They sheltered deep
In the basement of a tower
Soaked, rinsed, but wiser
About forecasting the Unseen Weather.
